INSTALLATION PLEDGE

2009/2010 Officers of Central Arkansas Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals

Whether we are aware or not, each of us writes a page in history for others to see. Some people write pages of love, understanding, and cheerfulness while others write pages filled with hatred, intolerance, and bitterness. Our actions, words, and deeds become our compositions.

Officers of IAAP at every level are no exception. Together, they write an entire chapter in their own history book. To ensure that the pages written are positive, the officers must strive to complete their various obligations promptly and effectively. A successful organization is comprised of dedicated leaders.

Today, the officers of the Central Arkansas Chapter of IAAP will receive a pen as part of our induction ceremony. These pens can contribute to the writing of the Chapter’s next episode as the officers use them to fulfill the duties and tasks of their respective positions.

Donna Lewis CPS/CAP, as Treasurer, your pen will be signing checks, paying bills, balancing the checkbook, and making out treasurer's reports. The pages that you write are in the world of money management. These pages will keep members informed as to the Chapter’s financial status.

Tina Stane, as Secretary, your pen will be constantly taking minutes at Board meetings and general chapter meetings—these minutes are the records of our organization. Your pen will also be writing letters, responding to correspondence, and making notations on incoming mail. The pages that you write are in the worlds of communication and history. They are the pages that will remind members of their Chapter's votes, decisions, and happenings.

Cindi Thomas, as Vice President, your pen will be used to keep accurate records in all of your duties assisting the President and President Elect. As you assist and guide the committee chairs and general membership, may this pen remind you of the diversity of the membership. The pages that you write are in the world of growth and stability in the Chapter. These pages will assist you in future years as you grow along with the membership of your Chapter.

Theresa Sontag CPS, as President Elect, your pen will be used to assist and cooperate with the President in every possible way to carry out the functions of your Chapter. As you serve in this position, may this pen remind you of the numerous ways that you will communicate with your membership. The pages that you write are in the world of growth through learning and education.

Carolyn Rufus CPS, to you has been given the highest honor. As President, your pen will be writing agendas, taking notes, following up on details, making lists, and appointing committees. At times, your pen may never cease to write as you fulfill the many obligations of your position. You must be tactful, courteous, conscientious, and always loyal to your office and your membership. The pages that you write are in the world of development. These pages will inspire members to reach beyond their past to a new future.
