Welcome:
- Teresa Tidwell CAP began the meeting by welcoming the CAC membership and guest speaker,
Elsie Terry with the DDF Consulting Group. She thanked Donna Chapman for assisting
in bringing in Ms. Terry for the program.
Door Prize Drawing:
- Wanda Butler won the prize for on-time drawing.
New Business:
- Teresa gave an update to the Pathways to Excellence Program. We have currently completed
4 of the14 points needed to be a Chapter of Excellence. Teresa mentioned that we need to continue to keep our members motivated
and do our best to recruit new members into the Central Arkansas Chapter.
- Carolyn Rufus CPS will chair a committee to host an Impact Meeting scheduled for next month.
Cyndee Moody created a flyer, which will be used to promote the meeting. The meeting will be held November 6 in the Darragh
Conference Center located in the Little Rock Library in the River Market. It will be
a drop-in reception from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Marsha Bryan CPS/CAP, A-O Division President, will be the guest speaker. There
will be a drawing for a $60.00 gas card. Each member who brings a guest will have their name put into the drawing for each
guest they bring.
- Donna Lewis CPS/CAP provided the Treasurer’s Report to Teresa, who reviewed the bank
statement with the chapter.
- Teresa passed out minutes from the September 17th meeting. Linda Myers made a motion to approve the minutes. Theresa Sontag seconded the motion and the motion was carried.
Introduction of Guest Speaker:
- Donna Chapman introduced Elsie Terry, with DDF Consulting Group, to speak on the topic “If You
Can’t Find it, Who Can-Records Retention.” Ms. Terry passed out information for each attendee to review. Her topic
included information on the different methods of filing, maintaining a master list of files, electronic filing, cross-referencing,
setting up a record retention schedule, security, methods of destroying documentation, and e-mailing files. Elsie handed out
information concerning the FACTA Disposal Rule and the Arkansas Personal Information Protection Act. These articles concern
rules about record retention and disclosure of personal information among other important items. She also provided suggestions
for controlling files. She is in an association called ARMA, which deals with records management.
Announcements/Discussions:
- Next chapter meeting will be on Wednesday, November 19, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. in the
12th floor conference room at Regions.
- Next board meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 5, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.
- Jodi McMillin CPS, A-O Division Certification Chair, will be hosting a certification study
group each week for the test in November and May of next year. Members can obtain additional information by contacting her
at Jodi.C.McMillin@conocophillips.com.
- Teresa reviewed the Jewelry Fundraiser and gave an update of the money raised to date.

- Teresa thanked Ms. Terry for coming and chapter members for attending the day’s meeting.

- Wanda Perry CPS/CAP is preparing for an additional surgery and hopes to be back to work
soon.
