SSgt Chris Maxwell and MSgt Brock Gonzales attended our February meeting in honor of the 22D Expeditionary Fighter Squadron at Balad Air Base in Iraq. Maxwell and Gonzales, husband of Dina Gonzales CPS, were deployed to Iraq from September 2007 to January 2008. They are currently home and are based with the 314th Logistics Readiness Squadron/Fuels Management Flight at Little Rock AFB. They came to our meeting to deliver a personal thank you from the troops in Iraq who received Christmas cards and packages our chapter sent over the holidays. These packages included many small items purchased from discount stores, books and handheld video games donated by Donna Lewis CPS/CAP's Methodist Church, and personal packages of coffee donated by Biff's Coffee in Jacksonville.

CAC IAAP was presented with a flag, which was flown in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and a certificate signed by Captain Matthew "Nails" Acer. These items were presented in appreciation and recognition of the support from CAC IAAP during the 2007 holiday season. The certificate reads as follows:

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM
This Certificate is Presented to the International Association of Administrative Professionals Central Arkansas Chapter

This is to certify that on 13 December 2007 this flag was flown during a mission in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was flown in a Lockheed Martin Block 50 MMC F-16CJ Viper, tail number 91-1343, for 3.9 hours over Iraq and supported coalition destruction of enemy forces. Aircraft was combat refueled by Airman First Class Shaun Brodin stationed from Little Rock AFB, Arkansas.

THANK YOU NOTES to CAC IAAP

from Dina Gonzales CPS and her husband, MSgt Brock Gonzales

Dearest Board members and fellow chapter members,

I wanted to pass on this message from my husband at Balad AB, Iraq.  He called me Christmas day to tell me they had grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and he opened all our boxes for the airmen to enjoy that day.  He told me on the phone they were completely overwhelmed and amazed with all the cards and things that were sent to them.

In addition to the 8 boxes I sent, Donna Lewis and her church group sent them books and hand held video games.

Thank you for your efforts and thoughts.

Please forward this to those that were at the November chapter meeting that I have omitted from this email.

Dina

Dina,

Please pass onto everyone back there that everyone here was very appreciative for the outpour of gratitude/Christmas gifts & cards.  Please, pass this onto Donna Lewis & the Methodist church, Huntington Group and the Central Arkansas Chapter of IAAP. Thanks and we'll all be home soon.

V/r,

MSgt Brock M. Gonzales
